Heilkraft Floratur Biota
Floratur Biota - Efficient microorganisms
Floratur Biota is a high-quality EM product with a wide range of applications. Each bottle contains a precisely harmonised mixture of different aerobic and anaerobic bacterial cultures, which have also been informed in a subtle way. The name Biota is not an artificial word - it comes from the Greek biotē (life) and stands for all living organisms in an ecosystem, i.e. the flora and fauna of a region or period. Based on this, we have created a product that is full of vitality and is suitable for making haylage and silage, purifying the stable air and caring for your animals' coats, among other things. However, the applications of EM go far beyond this.
What is EM?
The abbreviation EM stands for Efficient Microorganisms, which are more commonly referred to as effective. This refers to positive microbes that occur everywhere in nature and are responsible for constructive processes such as growth, well-being, health maintenance and regeneration. EM are only a small proportion of all microorganisms found on earth, far outnumbering all other living organisms in terms of number and volume. At 70 per cent, microscopic organisms make up the largest proportion of living matter.
Useful microorganisms
Microorganisms are tiny, single-celled organisms that are invisible to the naked eye. Microbes include bacteria, fungi, algae and unicellular organisms (protozoa). Beneficial microorganisms prevent decay, mould formation or oxidation, but only make up around five percent of all microbes. The bad, pathogenic microorganisms represent a similarly large group: they are responsible for diseases, weakness, putrefaction and bad odours. The vast majority of microorganisms - around 90 per cent - are opportunistic and remain neutral as long as the microbial environment is in balance. This refers to the environment, which plays a key role in today's understanding of health.
What does milieu mean?
A milieu in the medical sense describes a natural environment in or around an organism that is characterised by certain physical, chemical and biological factors. It can be soil, intestine, skin or just a part of it, such as a wound environment - they all have one thing in common: bacterial colonisation. The human body harbours ten times as many bacteria as cells, so strictly speaking we consist of 90% bacteria. They are particularly abundant in the intestines, oral cavity and oesophagus, on the skin, in the armpits, in the genitals and in the respiratory tract. If the microorganisms are in a natural balance, the environment is healthy. According to Professor Teruo Higa, the discoverer of efficient microorganisms, there are only a few strains that determine whether predominantly positive or negative processes take place in an environment. If an environment becomes unbalanced, pathogenic microbes gain the upper hand - the opportune microorganisms join the culprits.
What is effective about microorganisms?
Why are the good microorganisms called effective? The little helpers owe their name to their extraordinary ability to dovetail their completely different "life models" in such a way that they derive the greatest possible benefit from the fusion. The aerobic microorganisms need oxygen and consume it by producing nitrogen as waste. The anaerobic microbes in turn need nitrogen and release oxygen. In this way, the Efficient Microorganisms support each other and, in perfect symbiosis, are helpful and beneficial for humans, animals and nature.
EM application
Microbes are omnipresent and so the range of applications for Efficient Microorganisms extends to almost all areas of life. While the discovery in the early 1980s only had an effect on plants and soil, today EM are not only used as fertilisers or soil activators, they also prove their worth in stable and cage cleaning, animal care and feed supplementation, water treatment and air purification as well as in the household.
