    Probiotic 12-herb ferment

Our Floratur Wildkraut is a probiotic feed supplement made from fermented herbs for dogs and cats and combines two health-relevant phenomena: probiotics and fermentation. The first term - probiotic - is a hybrid word from the Latin pro and the ancient Greek bios and means "for life". Probiotics include live microorganisms that have a positive effect on the health of dogs and cats when ingested in sufficient quantities - around 10 million per gram. They can be lactic acid bacteria, but also yeast cultures. The second term - fermentation - refers to the ancient process of natural preservation, which also changes the nutritional and culinary properties of food. Probiotics for dogs and cats, enhanced by fermentation, are beneficial for the intestinal flora.

    What is fermentation?

The origins of the fermentation technique are shrouded in mystery - it is not known when people started soaking their food in salt water. Only the reasons are known: Fermentation is the oldest preservation method in the world. The so-called starter cultures are responsible for this: microorganisms such as yeast, bacteria or moulds, which originate from the ingredients themselves or from the environment. Sauerkraut is probably the best-known fermented food - unpasteurised sauerkraut is also a superfood with high probiotic potential for dogs.

Fermented = tastier and more digestible

Fermentation not only preserves food, but also makes it delicious and particularly healthy. The process makes the flavour of vegetables and herbs more delicate and fuller and changes their consistency. Fibrous plant parts become softer and easier to chew. Fermentation also makes ingredients easier to digest: the fermentation process stimulates probiotic processes that have a positive effect on the intestinal flora. When processed in this way, food is considered pre-digested as the cell structures are broken down.

    More nutrients through fermentation

Unlike heating, for example, fermentation preserves all vitamins and minerals and even increases the nutrient content. This is due to the fact that the phytic acid contained in various foods - an anti-nutritive substance that binds minerals and trace elements - is broken down by the efficient microorganisms. In this way, minerals are released again and become more available for dogs and cats. The enzymatic conversion therefore increases the content of vital substances many times over and increases the body's ability to absorb them.

Wild herb ferment: the valuable dozen

Our Floratur Wild Herb contains twelve valuable herbs from sustainable and pesticide-free cultivation: Birch leaves, fennel, raspberry leaves, sheep's fork, quendel, rosemary, peppermint, marshmallow root, aniseed, goldenrod, milk thistle seeds and caraway. The process of fermentation preserves the beneficial properties of the wild herbs and makes them more available to the body.

The powerful dozen herbs at a glance:

    • Birch leaves support the body in detoxification processes
    • Fennel helps with stomach and intestinal complaints such as nausea, pain and cramps
    • Raspberry leaves can relax the muscles of the digestive tract and help with mild diarrhoea
    • Sheep's milk has antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties
    • Quendel helps with flatulence, diarrhoea, indigestion, heartburn and other stomach complaints
    • Rosemary is used for stomach weakness and indigestion
    • Peppermint has a calming and antispasmodic effect and is used for nausea, stomach pain & cramps and bile problems
    • Marshmallow supports the body with stomach ulcers and inflammation of the mucous membranes as well as hyperacidity
    • Aniseed counteracts flatulence and vomiting
    • Goldenrod is valued for its beneficial properties for intestinal inflammation and diarrhoea
    • Milk thistle primarily supports the liver and gall bladder
    • Caraway is a medicinal plant that aids digestion, but is also used for flatulence, stomach weakness & cramps

Our unique wild herb ferment is also ideal for making haylage and silage, for nebulising in stables, for stable management and for coat care.

    How to use

Start with a small amount and increase slowly as required. Floratur Wildkraut can be given as a 12-week course, or longer if required. It is advisable to give the product in the evening, as it has more time to take effect at night due to the slower intestinal movement.
