The flavour experience

Ostrich meat from controlled free-range farming is a native, hypoallergenic meat, as dogs and their ancestors have no natural contact with ostriches in the wild. This is why veterinary practitioners and vets often recommend our African Outback variety for dogs with food allergies, as only free-range ostrich meat is used and we consistently avoid cereals.

Dogs love the special flavour of our Wildborn African Outback and even picky dogs enjoy eating our great variety. It is also ideally suited to the special requirements of dogs with nutritional sensitivities.

The tender meat of the world's largest bird is increasingly recognised as a culinary trendsetter and now also in dog food; some even call it "the meat of the 21st century". Yet the ostrich is one of the oldest animals on earth. Around 2 million years ago, the flightless bird was already roaming the savannahs and semi-deserts of Africa and the Middle East.

The best of nature

We only use the best quality, natural, food-grade meat, which corresponds to the normal diet of the wolf, combined with our fruit and vegetable mixtures, just as they are on the menu of the genetic ancestor of our domestic dogs.

Our premium variety contains a large portion of ostrich meat

Ostrich meat uniquely combines the properties of poultry meat (low in calories and cholesterol) with the sensory properties of beef (dark red, tender meat, some say with a slight "gamey flavour"). Ostrich meat also contains a lot of iron. The flavour of ostrich meat is somewhat reminiscent of beef fillet and also of duck or dark turkey meat. Its consistency is firm but very tender.

How healthy is ostrich meat?

Experts particularly praise ostrich meat for being lean, high in protein and very low in cholesterol compared to other types of meat. With less than 60 mg of cholesterol per 100 g, ostrich meat is therefore a good choice for all dogs that need to watch their blood pressure or blood lipid levels. Of course, it is also ideal for all other dogs. But ostrich meat is also ideal for dogs that need to watch their weight, as it contains hardly any fat and very few calories.

Our medicinal herb mix - centaury makes the difference

All our biologically appropriate dog foods are formulated with the dog's genetic origin in mind. It is not just the high meat content that makes the difference, but our "secret recipe" is our special blend of medicinal herbs.

We use valuable plants such as yucca extract, nettle, blackberry leaves, yarrow, fennel, caraway, camomile flowers, mistletoe, gentian root and the special medicinal plant centaury.

Centaury is a relative of gentian and therefore also optimally promotes digestive activity and stimulates the production of digestive juices. Its digestive effect and the associated strengthening effect is so pronounced that centaury is one of the most highly valued medicinal plants. This is more than clear from its name.

Grain-free and gluten-free, as grain is not a natural food for carnivores and is the main cause of allergic feed reactions.
