Devil's claw is almost exclusively native to the Kalahari and Namibia. As it is highly valued there by the local population for its diverse effects and has also been imported into non-African countries for some time now, the "wild collection" that has been predominantly practised to date has taken on enormous proportions. Devil's claw should therefore be acquired from careful collection (leaving the main root standing) or cultivation wherever possible.
The ground devil's claw root we offer is organically cultivated in Namibia and thus ensures the continued existence of wild plants.
Devil's claw has a high proportion of bitter substances, which can stimulate the secretion of digestive juices and thus appetite and improve digestion in poor eaters, for example. In addition, devil's claw contains glycosides such as harpagoside and harpagide which, when taken for 2 to 3 weeks, can support the function of the joint apparatus in particular.
