Our Lunderland Sun Chlorella is cultivated in closed glass tube systems. This guarantees maximum purity, controlled use of nutrients and optimum exposure to sunlight. Contamination with pesticides or insecticides from normal agriculture is virtually impossible. The same applies to contamination that could enter the breeding tanks from the surrounding nature in outdoor systems. Microbiological contamination is also minimised as far as possible in the food-grade production facility.

Cultivation in the glass tube system is not only very efficient but also the basis for one of the purest and highest quality algae products in the world. In fact, these chlorella algae are even more uncontaminated than the organic microalgae products currently available on the market.

Due to its special nutrient and mineral content, our sun chlorella is suitable for a wide range of applications.

One of the most outstanding properties of chlorella (as with spirulina) is its strong odour-neutralising effect.

Spirulina / chlorella can be a worthwhile alternative to commercially available chlorophyll pastes for animals that smell through the skin or from the mouth without a medical diagnosis.

Chlorella also provides minerals and vitamins. However, its iodine content is negligible, as chlorella, unlike seaweed, is a freshwater organism. Instead, it scores highly with its potassium and magnesium content. The iron it contains is easily bioavailable.

In terms of vitamins, the content of B vitamins(B6, B9 and especially folic acid and B12 in a readily bioavailable form) is particularly noteworthy.

Vitamin B12 plays an important role in haematopoiesis, cell division (wound healing), methionine/homocysteine metabolism, the function of the nervous system and DNA replication.

Vitamin B12 deficiency primarily affects older, chronically ill, pregnant/suckling and vegan-fed animals. Folic acid is needed, for example, in cases of inflammation of the small intestine.

Chlorella has a positive effect on the intestinal mucosa, and the β-1 ,3-glucans it contains can also strengthen the immune system.

The high content of carotenoids (β-carotene, lutein) and chlorophyll also supports skin functions (thus stimulating skin pigmentation and providing natural sun protection) and helps to maintain healthy eyesight.

Please note that carotenoids can give the coat a reddish colour.

We give our dogs chlorella if they appear tired and dull for no apparent reason, as chlorella is known to bind heavy metals and remove them from the body.
