We stand by our statement that fresh meat is the basis of a species-appropriate diet for dogs and cats. However, not every customer is prepared to prepare their pet's meat-based food themselves. And even with fresh feeders, there will always be situations in which feeding raw meat is not feasible (e.g. on holiday etc.). This is why more and more manufacturers are offering tinned "pure meat". But even with these cans there are considerable differences in quality.

The declaration "meat and animal by-products" can conceal relatively worthless connective and fatty tissue as "meat" and waste as "animal by-products". A large number of additives and auxiliary substances do not have to be declared.

Lunderland meat cans are 100 % fully declared. Apart from the declared meat parts, no by-products are cooked into the can. The protein and fat content in the cans correspond to the natural values of the raw material. No fats or other protein sources are added. The extremely low levels of crude fibre and crude ash prove that no fillers have been used. It goes without saying that our tins are free from colourings, flavourings and preservatives and contain no synthetic vitamins or minerals.

Our tins are produced without emulsifiers, stabilisers, salt, protein extracts or added fats. Any moisture and fats that may escape from the processed meat are therefore not hidden but are visible, as is the case with "canning" at home. Both natural components of the meat should be included in the feed.
