For over 2000 years oats have been of great importance in horse feeding. Even the Romans fed oats to their "war horses" to give them an extra boost of energy for the hard work. In contrast to wheat, barley barley or maize, oats have the advantage that the starch they contain is easier to digest.
Pavo uses 2 different types of varieties of oats in its products: White oats and black oats. Oats are already suitable as feed in their untreated form. 100 litres of untreated, cleaned oats weigh 50kg. The oats that Pavo uses is not only cleaned, but also dehulled. Why Pavo de-husk its oats? The oat hulls have a slightly irritating effect on the horse's digestive tract. Another advantage of hulled oats is that the weight increases to 55-57 kg per 100 litres and the oats are easier to digest.
Oats are available as black oats, white oats and rolled (white) oats. oats. The oats used by Pavo come from Belgium and northern northern France. Pavo sells hulled white oats and black oats as 100% grain. oats as 100% grain. White oats are also available as oat flakes available.
