What makes Welzhofer "unsulphured sultanas" so special for birds
Sultanas as bird food are an important part of the diet of berry-eating birds such as blackbirds, thrushes and starlings. With their high fructose content, sultanas in feed promote the vitality of wild birds.
Sultanas are often referred to as sultanas (bird food). The term sultana is an umbrella term for sultanas, sultanas and currants. On the other hand, it also refers to other grape varieties and a different drying process.
Our unsulphurised sultanas are made from the particularly sweet, seedless Sultana grape (Thompson Seedless). The grapes are harvested when ripe and dried until the moisture content of the berries is only around 15 - 18 %. With their high fructose content of around 33%, sultanas are an immediately available source of energy as bird food.
Our sultanas for birds are unsulphurised, so they are free from chemical additives.
Note: Sultanas and sultanas can cause kidney problems in dogs and cats, which is why these animals should not have access to dried fruit.
